what we do

We develop interdisciplinary and intersectoral work to transform urban food systems, promoting health, social justice and environmental sustainability.

Our strategies strengthen the public policy debate, guide advocacy actions, share knowledge, and highlight the agenda for food systems transition in Brazil and globally.

Our work focuses on achievable solutions, promoting collective action and political advocacy. We have become a reference in local food governance and multidisciplinary coordination, contributing to more resilient cities, to healthier communities, and to food systems aligned with the challenges and opportunities of our time.

Strategic axes

We build bridges between knowledge and action, based on 3 strategic approaches.

Strengthening the Public Debate

It promotes knowledge about urban food systems based on municipal practices. A systemic approach is its differential, integrating technical, scientific and empirical knowledge to guide policies and strengthen advocacy. Local experiences serve as learning and inspiration for recommendations and actions.

Voicing and articulation

It organizes programs and actions of advocacy, dialogue, articulation and cooperation to strengthen discussions and urban food policies. The strategy operates in national and international spaces of advocacy, research and cooperation, presenting contributions on food, planetary health and climate justice from Brazil.

Strengthening Public Policies

It promotes dialogue, public debate and the exchange of experiences between different social actors. It is committed to the creation of multisectoral spaces to advance the debate on food systems and public food policies in a systemic and integrated manner. It conducts workshops, training, lectures and collaborative methodologies to foster knowledge, dialogue and innovative solutions to local and global demands.

We promote the strengthening of public policies and the debate on urban food systems
