CLIMATE AND BIODIVERSITY
The relation between food systems, climate change, and biodiversity is central to ensuring environmental resilience and future food security. Comida do Amanhã works to highlight the impacts of the agri-food model on climate and ecological crises, promoting regenerative practices, valuing socio-biodiversity and building policies that integrate food, climate justice and the environment. We believe that a sustainable food system must be aligned with the preservation of ecosystems and adaptation to climate change.
In the field of climate and biodiversity, the COP30 Food Initiative Coalition stands out for its efforts to place food at the center of climate discussions at COP30, to be held in Belém. The initiative brings together civil society organizations to highlight how food systems impact and are impacted by climate and ecological crises, promoting debates on regenerative practices, biodiversity conservation, and policies that integrate food, climate justice, and environment. By coordinating different sectors and fostering concrete commitments, the COP30 Food Initiative Coalition contributes to building more resilient and sustainable food systems, aligned with the preservation of ecosystems and adaptation to climate change.
