GOVERNANCE
Governance of food systems is essential for the development of effective and sustainable public policies, ensuring that different actors – civil society, governments and the private sector – take part with transparency and in a democratic manner. Comida do Amanhã fosters debates on food governance structures, promoting spaces for dialogue, knowledge production and political influence to strengthen participatory mechanisms and the implementation of regulatory frameworks that favor more equitable and sustainable food systems.
In the field of food systems governance, we highlight the LUPPA program – Laboratory on Urban Food Policies. This initiative promotes the articulation between different actors – local governments, civil society and the private sector – to strengthen food governance in Brazilian municipalities. Through an intersectoral and participatory approach, LUPPA supports cities in designing and implementing more integrated food policies, encouraging transparency in management and the development of collective solutions for food and nutrition security. By stimulating dialogue and cooperation, the program helps strengthen democratic mechanisms for the governance of food systems.
