The Action on Food Hub Pavilion (AOFH) and the Food Roots and Routes Pavilion (FRRP) are proud to announce a strategic partnership at COP30, uniting two leading food systems platforms under a shared mission: to position food at the heart of climate action through inclusive, equitable and solutions-driven dialogue.

Hosted in Belém, the gateway to the Amazon and a symbol of Brazil’s leadership on food systems transformation, COP30 marks the tenth anniversary of the Paris Agreement — a pivotal moment to translate commitments into implementation. Against this backdrop, the AOFH and FRRP will collaborate to amplify the voices of Global South, ensuring their lived experiences and solutions shape the global climate agenda.

A shared Vision for #ActionOnFood and Climate Justice

The Action on Food Hub Pavilion, located in the COP30 Blue Zone, brings together a coalition of international organisations committed to advancing #ActionOnFood – transforming global food systems to deliver just, healthy, and resilient outcomes for people and the planet.

The Food Roots and Routes Pavilion highlights perspectives from the Global South that show how food systems can drive climate solutions. By centering agroecology, biodiversity, and the knowledge of traditional peoples and communities, the pavilion is designed to amplify voices that are often underrepresented in major climate forums, helping ensure that debates in the Blue Zone reflect the diversity and leadership of the Global South.

Together, the two pavilions will foster an integrated space for dialogue, learning, and collective action – bridging the gap between policy, practice, and place-based wisdom.

As part of this partnership, the pavilions will co-host a series of three joint plenary sessions over the two weeks of COP30 (on the 13th, 19th and 20th, at 13h10, on the Action on Food Hub pavillion). These sessions will be curated to showcase Global South thought leadership on the intersections of food systems, climate action, and social justice

Each session will feature visionary speakers from across the Global South, including representatives from Instituto Comida do Amanhã, ACT Promoção da Saúde, Oxfam Brasil, CONAQ, Cátedra Josué de Castro (University of São Paulo), IDEC and Colansa ensuring an open, accessible dialogue.

Together, the AOFH and FRRP illustrate that solutions already exist in the knowledge, innovation, and resilience of communities across the Global South, and together unite efforts to put food systems at the centre of climate debates.
