Home-Grown School Feeding: Case Studies on Procurement and Financing Report
The report Home-Grown School Feeding: Case Studies on Procurement and Financing analyzes procurement models and financing strategies for home-grown school feeding (HGSF) programs, based on four case studies from Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Bolivia, Brazil, and Cambodia. It examines how these programs are structured, financed, and implemented at the national and municipal levels, and explores their role in improving nutrition, supporting smallholder farmers, strengthening local food systems, and promoting climate-focused agri-food policies. Prepared by the School Meals Coalition’s Sustainable Financing Initiative (SFI), the report highlights context-specific challenges and lessons learned, with the aim of informing policy dialogue and future program planning.
