The report Feed the City, Sustain the Territory: Creating Regenerative Urban-Rural Alliances, published by C40 Cities in 2026, brings together five international case studies on how cities and rural areas can cooperate to strengthen food systems. The publication addresses strategies for connecting urban production and demand, expanding opportunities for farmers, strengthening the food supply, and promoting more sustainable food systems. Among the cases analyzed is Pró-Metrópole, in the Curitiba Metropolitan Region, which brings together municipalities and institutions from different sectors to strengthen the links in the agri-food chain and foster joint solutions to regional food supply challenges. The Food of Tomorrow Institute contributed to the chapter dedicated to Curitiba.
