On August 5, PNAE Agroecológico held the second meeting of its Coordination Group, a permanent space for exchanging experiences between selected and non-selected municipalities in the first phase of the program. The meeting brought together representatives from 17 cities, reinforcing the initiative’s collaborative nature.
Developed after the program’s selection process, the Coordination Group aims to promote continuous dialogue about the challenges and opportunities of the agroecological transition in public school feeding. Meetings are expected to be held online every quarter.
In this second meeting, participants had the opportunity to learn about the experience of the municipality of São Paulo, which presented the agroecological transition protocol currently under implementation in the city. “It was an important opportunity for exchanging ideas, which opened space for us to discuss the creation of municipal protocols and the main challenges and potential for purchasing, via PNAE, food produced by farmers undergoing agroecological transition,” said Gabriela Vieira, Public Policy analyst at the Comida do Amanhã Institute.
The Coordination Group’s next meeting is scheduled for November 2025.
