The National School Feeding Program (PNAE) as a Driver of Agroecological Transition in Brazil

With the aim of promoting the agroecological transition of family farming in Brazil, this study seeks to understand how this process can be leveraged through school feeding, exploring incentive mechanisms and institutional arrangements that strengthen the local production and supply of healthy and sustainable foods, with the National School Feeding Program (PNAE) serving as the main driver of this transformation.

The document was prepared by the Comida do Amanhã Institute, the Regenera Institute, the Zero Hunger Institute, and the World Food Programme (WFP) Center of Excellence against Hunger in Brazil and is available in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
