Book “Grandma’s Blue Cake”
In the book “O Bolo Azul da Vovó” (Grandma’s Blue Cake), little Luísa misses her grandmother’s lap and her magical blue cake. Alongside her father, she discovers the secret ingredient in the colorful recipe, learns about some of the delicious fruits from her grandmother’s home state of Roraima, and learns about the importance of preserving the native forest and its diversity of colors and flavors. The book is inspired by Letícia Neves’ personal story and the theme of biodiversity loss, showing how, through cooking, it is possible to reconnect with ancestral roots and value ecological diversity. Written by Bruna Ferreira, Letícia Neves, Rafaela Menezes, and Thaís Santos, and produced by the Poliniza Buzz laboratory, the Comida do Amanhã story program, in collaboration with the University of Brasilia.
